Pricing & faq
How much does therapy cost?
I charge £90 for each 50 minute session.
How do I book a first meeting?
Reach out to me by email or phone and we can book a time to meet in person at my therapy room on a Monday near Goodge Street or Tuesday near Archway.
Do you work with private healthcare insurance?
Yes, I work with AVIVA, AXA Health and Vitality Health.
What can I expect from the first session?
The first session is for both of us to decide whether it feels like the right fit. I may ask a few more questions about your history to get an idea of how I can best help you. If it feels right for you we can arrange a time for us to meet weekly and if I feel a different service might better fit your needs I will be transparent and let you know.
What is your past experience and what disorders do you work with?
I try and focus on the person as a whole before the disorder.
I have a wide range of experience. I have worked for the NHS, charities and private healthcare providers including inpatient, outpatient and day care.
I have experience working with the following:
Depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems, OCD, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, PTSD, ADHD, autism, emotionally unstable personality disorder, depersonalisation, dissociative identity disorder, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia, paranoia.
Do you offer therapy remotely?
I prefer to do therapy in person. If we have an established therapeutic relationship in person and you move somewhere or spend a prolonged periods away, we can continue using Zoom.
How do I pay for sessions?
For the first session I will send you a link to pay before the session along with a client details form.
After this, if we continue working together I will send you an invoice at the beginning of each month which covers the previous month's sessions.
Do you charge if I cancel a session?
For psychotherapy to maintain momentum I think it is best for it to be weekly. If a session is cancelled with less than 4 days notice it will be charged. If therapy starts becoming irregular we can review things and if it feels like the right thing work towards an ending.
Is therapy confidential?
Therapy is confidential. If I have immediate concerns about your safety or the safety of someone else confidentiality will be breached. In this very rare situation I will be transparent about what information is being passed onto another service and why.
Is therapy regulated, do you receive supervision?
Yes, I am regulated by a professional organisation called the UKCP, my UKCP registration number is 2011186181. I adhere to the UKCP code of ethics. I have regular supervision and have my own psychoanalysis.
I hope this answers some of the common questions people ask when considering reaching out to a therapist. If you have any additional questions or would like to talk to me, feel free to reach out using the email address or phone number below.
